ClearDesk Pro Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
ClearDesk Pro organizes files on your computer. The application does not automatically send documents, notes or diagnostic logs to Bits e Bytes.
1. Publisher and scope
ClearDesk Pro is published under the name Bits & Bytes Tecnologia, in Belém, Pará, Brazil. For privacy or support questions, contact contato@bitsebytes.net.
This policy covers the application and related support. External services opened by the user have their own policies.
2. Information used on your computer
- Names, paths, types, icons and metadata of files and folders you organize or browse in linked folders.
- Box positions, sizes, appearance and contents; folder links, organization rules and preferences.
- Project titles, tasks, due dates, notes and references to files, applications and links you add.
- Recent files opened through the application within projects, and their opening dates. ClearDesk Pro does not monitor all activity in other programs.
- Local startup, error and recovery logs, which may include file paths, timestamps and technical details.
This information enables item display and organization, file-name searches, project resumption and recovery of managed items' visibility. The current version does not index document text or perform OCR.
3. Storage and backups
Settings and logs are stored in your Windows user profile. The traditional installation uses %APPDATA%\DesktopOrganizer; the previous internal folder name is retained for compatibility. Windows may manage or redirect storage depending on the installation format.
.dkpbackup files include paths, notes and other organization settings, but not document contents. You choose where to save manual backups; the app creates a local safety copy before restoring. These files have no application-level encryption: protect your Windows account and backup locations.
If you choose a synchronized, network or cloud folder, the relevant service may store or transfer this information according to your settings.
4. Network, Microsoft Store and external services
The app does not include advertising, usage tracking sent to Bits e Bytes or sales of personal information. Opening a link, network file or cloud item may involve your browser, Windows or another provider you choose.
For Microsoft Store distribution, Microsoft processes information needed for accounts, acquisition, payment, distribution and licensing under its terms and Privacy Statement. We do not receive your Microsoft account password or full payment card details through the app.
5. User support
If you contact us, we receive your email address, the name you provide, your message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, investigate issues and follow up on support. Email and hosting providers may process this information to enable communication.
Only send what is necessary. Remove passwords, tokens, personal documents and third-party information from screenshots, backups and logs before sharing. These files are not automatically sent to support.
6. Retention and control
Local information remains until you change or remove it. Traditional uninstallation preserves settings and backups for recovery. Before deleting these files, use the application's recovery function, confirm that your items are visible and close the app. Also remove exported backups you no longer want to retain. Manage copies stored in the cloud or on other devices through those services.
Support information is retained for as long as needed to handle the request and meet applicable obligations. You may request information about, correction of or deletion of data you sent us by contacting our email address. We cannot remotely access information that exists only on your computer.
7. Visiting this page
This privacy page and the ClearDesk Pro product page contain no analytics scripts, advertising or forms. Hosting infrastructure may log technical visit data, such as IP address, time, URL and browser, for operation and security. Other Bits e Bytes website pages may use their own features and measurements.
8. Updates
We will update this policy when information handling changes. The date above identifies the revision. Significant changes will be communicated on the product page or in the application, as appropriate.
